Supporter event ~ West Africa

Where: Online
Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire provides 70% of world’s cocoa, and according to research carried out by the World Cocoa Foundation, the average West African grower farms less than 3.5 hectares, with no access to irrigation or modern farming techniques.
A typical farmer, working outside of Fairtrade, lives on around 75p per day (far below the World Bank’s extreme poverty line of £1.40) and many are responsible for a household of up to eight family members.
We welcome you to join us at our online support event on Wednesday 19 May at 2pm.
We will hear from Daniel Amponsah, President of cocoa co-operative, Asunafo and Adam Brett, Founder of Tropical Wholefood, on the various challenges facing cocoa producers in the region, and how we are working together to overcome these.
Sign up for the free event here.
Registration for this event will close on Tuesday 18 May at 5pm (UK time).
