Our Projects

We were delighted to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Shared Interest Foundation in 2024. We are proud to say that over the past 20 years, we have delivered 51 projects in 15 countries, reaching over 13,000 farmers and artisans.

The Foundation continues to deliver vital work providing technical support, enhancing business skills and promoting sustainable production methods to strengthen local enterprises across Africa and Latin America, where rural communities are disproportionately affected by global challenges such as climate change and economic instability.

These initiatives, supported by our donors and partners, have advanced our work in climate resilience, gender equality, youth involvement, and income diversification.

Our projects span diverse communities, from vegetable farmers with disabilities in Burkina Faso to coffee farmers in Rwanda. In Ivory Coast, we assisted young cocoa farmers in improving farm productivity through sustainable practices. While new and ongoing initiatives strengthened beekeeping, agroforestry, and governance skills, allowing participants to build more resilient livelihoods.

Project Themes

Our projects work across three dimensions, 'Developing Sustainable Enterprises', 'Empowering Women and Youth' and 'Building Climate Resilience', reflecting our commitment to improving livelihoods by driving transformative change within the most vulnerable and disadvantaged parts of the world.

Developing Sustainable Enterprises

Our initiatives establish sustainable businesses and income-generating projects, empowering smallholder producers and making a lasting impact on communities in need.

We firmly believe that the key to sustainable development lies in the creation of strong and well-managed businesses.

Empowering women and youth

Our projects economically empower women and youth to play an active role in supply chains and earn a meaningful income.

This focus reinforces our objective of fostering inclusive, equitable and secure futures for project participants, creating a ripple effect that reaches every corner of the community.

Building climate resilience

Climate change is directly affecting the producers we support in many ways, from increased pests and diseases reducing crop yield and quality, to droughts and floods devastating agricultural land.

Through our focus on climate resilience, we want to help farmers implement climate adaption and mitigation techniques, ensuring that even the most remote areas can thrive in the face of environmental challenges.
