GUEST SPEAKER: EMILY PEARCE, THE CO-OP
Joining us at our Manchester supporter event will be special guest speaker Emily Pearce of the Co-op, an industry leader in responsible retailing.
Emily Pearce is Senior Sustainable Sourcing & International Development Manager in the Co-op’s Ethical, Sustainability and Policy team. Co-op is a consumer co-operative in the UK who are proud to have supported Fairtrade since 1994.
Emily leads Co-op’s industry leading Fairtrade strategy, sustainable sourcing, international development, water security and food waste commitments under Co-op’s sustainability strategy. Emily joined Co-op in 2015.
Prior to her current role, Emily worked in human rights and ethical trade for the Co-op managing supplier and supply chain engagement, ethical audit and capacity building programme, and leading strategic projects to address human rights issues in key sourcing countries.
Before joining Co-op, Emily was Stakeholder Manager at Sedex, responsible for developing and delivering Sedex’s global stakeholder outreach strategy. Emily began her career in sustainable fashion, as Senior Manager at the Ethical Fashion Forum, the industry body for sustainable fashion.
