Volunteers’ Week (1st - 7th June) is a great opportunity for us to get vocal about volunteering at Shared Interest. Not only do we want to amplify awareness of the invaluable support our volunteers offer but also to say thank you to those who share their time, skills, passion and expertise with us.
Shared Interest has involved volunteers since the organisation was founded over 30 years ago. A number of supporters took the role of ‘Reps’, working to promote Shared Interest in their regional areas. This developed into an Ambassador scheme and from there we have introduced a number of volunteering roles including Translators, Data Entry Assistants and most recently the role of Trusts and Foundations Researcher, supporting Shared Interest Foundation.
We continue to diversify the range of volunteer opportunities available at Shared Interest and this in turn has increased the variety of contributions made. It is a pleasure to work with such a passionate group of individuals, who each bring something unique to their role. We look forward to broadening our roles further as we celebrate the integral part volunteers play in achieving our goals.
We are working with likeminded organisations to encourage people to share their motivations for volunteering. To do this, we are sharing content on social media and using the #Vol4All hashtag. Please do get involved if you are a volunteer and want to say what it means to you.
