Safeguarding Policy
KEEPING PEOPLE SAFE
Shared Interest is committed to protecting the dignity and rights of every person. We work with those that are committed to supporting communities to eradicate poverty through trade and promote basic rights and justice. This includes the rights of children and adults.
We believe safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Our team, volunteers, partners and representatives must be aware of their responsibilities to prevent harm, exploitation and abuse, reporting any suspected or actual incidents. We also require our partners to share our commitment to safeguarding and we support them to do so.
We have a zero-tolerance approach and take all concerns seriously, responding appropriately to anything reported to us. We put the wishes and the needs of the individual at the heart of our response and recognise the need for confidentiality, ensuring any information provided is only shared on a need-to-know basis.
Breaches of the organisational Safeguarding policy constitutes gross misconduct and are grounds for disciplinary measures up to and including dismissal.
How can someone raise a concern?
Shared Interest encourages and welcomes anyone raising a concern. This includes our partners, the people and communities we work with, our investors, donors, volunteers and members of the public.
You can do this through our dedicated safeguarding email address: safeguarding@shared-interest.com
