Election of new Council Member
The Council of Shared Interest comprises eight members who are elected to represent the views and interests of all Members of the Society to the Board of Directors and Management. Four of those members are chosen completely at random and four are members who have put themselves forward to be elected to Council.
The Council meets formally three times a year and informally at the AGM in March. It also conducts occasional discussions on relevant issues by email, telephone or video calls between meetings.
There are no members of Council due to conclude their terms of office at the AGM in 2024. David Fellows is retiring by rotation and eligible to stand again but has decided not to do this. There will therefore be one new randomly-chosen member of Council for election by members at the AGM but this is not contested. Katherine Wyatt, a non-randomly chosen member, is retiring by rotation at the AGM in 2024 and is not standing for re-election. This election can be contested but there is only one candidate.
