Taking on a challenge for Shared Interest Foundation

Taking on a challenge for Shared Interest Foundation

One of our lovely supporters, Anne, is taking on the 874 mile John O’Groats to Land’s End cycle challenge with her daughter raising funds for Shared Interest Foundation and two other charities; Peer Talk and Carers Worldwide. Before she set of we spoke to Anne about her motivation for supporting our charity.

Anne, said: “I have been a Shared Interest investor for a number of years and as a founder member of Preston & South Ribble Fairtrade Group and Fairtrade Lancashire I wanted to include something Fairtrade-related among the charities we chose.”

Anne chose to support Shared Interest Foundation after she attended a workshop delivered by Foundation Manager, Kodzo Korkortsi, organised by her Fairtrade group during Fairtrade Fortnight.

“Kodzo spoke so eloquently of projects such as training women in Burkina Faso in bee-keeping, to give them income for the rest of the year, and training groups of youths in Ghana and setting them up in cocoa farming. The projects he described were very simple, straightforward and sustainable, and so effective in improving lives. I hope to raise awareness of what the Foundation does and with any money raised enable more such projects to be implemented.”

If you would like to support Anne her Just Giving page is now active and you can keep up to date with her progress on our social media channels.
